Archaeology at No 10 Best Lane |
|
No. 10 Best Lane was taken over by Invicta Arts in 1987 who decided to refurbish the building. The Canterbury Archaeological Trust undertook a major excavation in the building and reported on their findings in the 1987/1988 Annual Report. The following year, they followed the development of the building and did some more recording. Sadly, the shop was closed so you cannot go in to see this building at present. Although, recently I have heard that someone wanted to turn the building into a pub, but local businesses are opposing the planning request.
