The Marlowe Theatre

The Marlowe Theatre frontage here preserves the look of the old Odeon Cinema that existed originally. Extra glass covered wings have been added to the side to provide audience access to the auditorium.

In front of the theatre is a statue commemorating Christopher Marlowe, the dramatist, who was baptised in St. Georges Church. You'll find the Clocktower that is all that remains of the church at the other end of the city. The statue is not so prominent as it once was, the tree behind it is encroaching into the space.
