There's enough local business at this end of the city to prompt the City Council to provide short-term on-street parking here and also in the roads on the left and right. Parking is controlled by a scratch card that you can buy in most small shops in the city.
On the right, you can see the red brick of the Roper Gate, the last remnant of the 16th Century House of the Roper family that was situated here, outside the city, on your right.
