Above Ridingate

We are standing on the bridge that spans the roadway on the site of the ancient break in the city walls known as Ridingate. Ahead is the Old Dover Road, 'Old' because it mustn't be confused with the New Dover Road which heads off to Dover from the next roundabout along the inner ring road at St. Georges Place.

The building to the right of the roundabout is the Canterbury Police Station, and the one on the left is the Fire Station.
