The Chapter House

The Chapter House

The Chapter House is late 14th Century and was where the monks and priests met to be the council for the church and the monastery. Later, it became the place where sermons were preached.

The roof of this building is wonderful, and it's worth trying to get inside (it's sometimes closed) to see it. The roof is made from Irish Oak and is heavily decorated with painted shields.
