Into Hawks Lane

With what was Thresher's Wine shop on the right we enter Hawk's Lane. It was the site of an interesting archaeological exploration in 1991/1992.

Hawks Lane leads down to Stour Street and the Canterbury Heritage Centre. Cars are not supposed to enter here, it's one-way in the other direction. There is a tiny no-entry sign on the left of the junction which you might miss, I suppose. The route has become popular of late with people parking at the end of St. Margaret's Street. I expect the double yellow lines will emerge there to stop this.
