Butchery Lane

This is a great view of the Cathedral. Some years ago you could walk between two pubs that served local real ale, or relatively locally brewed real ale - from Faversham.

The City Arms that is just in shot on the left of the picture served Fremlins, until Whitbread (I think) bought the brewery and closed it. The old Fremlins brewery in Faversham now houses Tesco. What is now Casey's was The Shakespeare Inn and still serves Shepherd Neame products, which is now the sole brewery in Faversham. Shepherd Neame have turned a couple of their Canterbury pubs pubs.

Turn right here for the Roman Museum.
