Into Butchery Lane
(Photo 2001)

Down Butchery Lane you will find the Roman Museum, two pubs next door to each other, a fine pastry shop, and down the other end Body Shop and Libertys.

A fire in 'The City Arms' in about 2002 closed down the businesses for some considerable time, but all is now rebuilt.

The street has the feel of a medieval lane, but there is no fear of the residents chucking foul water from the upstairs windows. Canterbury now has sewers.
