King Street bends around to the right here and joins up with the end of Palace Street. On the corner here is an interesting building. In fact, it's two different houses. The house ahead of you is called The Black Prince's Chantry. Edward, The Black Prince, one of those heros in British history, victor at Crécy and Poitiers, was buried in the Cathedral on the 29th September 1376. Why he should have a chantry here I do not know. The glass-sided building is a relatively recent conversion of what was an old builders yard, now housing an Orthodontic practice.
King Street turns right here, heading for Palace Street.
