Into Dane John Gardens

Well, this park doesn't look so nice from this close vantage point. There once was a sign here telling us that there was some EC funded work to develop the park, they were responsible (with others) for a refencing exercise and the installation of the gateposts.

Dane John is a corruption of donjon which is the Norman name for mound on which a castle is built. There is a large artificial mound in the corner of the city walls.
