Lady Wooton's Green

The space ahead is called `Lady Wooton's Green'. Lady Wooton got so fed up of people misusing this space, that she fenced it, much to the disgust of the townspeople. The gate at the back is one of the pair of gates to St. Augustine's Abbey. It's called the Fyndon Gate, after the Archbishop that caused its building. The site is now part of Christchurch College.

Turn left for a view down Broad Street, and right to head into the City via Burgate.
